Every photo carries a second, invisible file inside it: format and colour depth, print resolution, the camera and lens that took it, and often the coordinates where you were standing. These four tools read that record, and one of them removes it. Everything runs in your browser, so a geotagged photo never leaves your device.
Three of them read. One of them removes. Which you want depends on whether you are trying to learn something about a file or trying to stop a file telling somebody else something.
Nothing in this group changes how your photo looks. Metadata is a separate record travelling inside the same file, and reading it or deleting it leaves every pixel exactly where it was. That is the line between this group and the rest of the image tools: if you want the picture itself to change, you want the resize and DPI group, the compression tools, or the format converters.
Start with Image Info if you do not know what the file is. Go straight to the EXIF viewer if you already know it is a photo and you want the camera and location data.
The DPI checker tells you what the resolution tag currently says and how big the photo prints at that setting. It writes nothing. If the tag is wrong for the print you want, the DPI changer sets it. Neither one adds a single pixel: raising DPI makes the print smaller, not sharper, and anything promising otherwise is quietly selling you a resize. When you actually need more pixels, that is the image resizer.
Reading metadata and removing it are also two jobs, not one. The EXIF viewer shows you what a photo is carrying. The EXIF remover takes it out, and then re-reads the finished file with the viewer's own parser to prove nothing was left behind. Doing it in that order is worth the extra thirty seconds, because it is the difference between hoping a file is clean and knowing it is.
Every tool in this group reads the raw bytes of your file inside the browser. Nothing is queued, nothing is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Nobody is harmed by knowing which phone took a picture. The field that matters is GPS, because a phone records the coordinates to a handful of metres, which on a photo taken at home is your front door. Marketplace listings, rental adverts and community posts are the everyday cases where that gets shared without anyone meaning to. Check first with the EXIF viewer, then clear it with the EXIF remover.
Most files carry 72 in the resolution field simply because that is what the encoder wrote when nobody chose anything. A print shop reads that number and produces something enormous and soft. The DPI checker shows what the tag says, what the photo actually prints at on A4 or a 4 by 6, and whether the JPEG is holding two values that contradict each other. Fixing the tag afterwards is the DPI changer, and if the photo genuinely lacks pixels it is the image resizer you need instead.
An exam or visa upload usually specifies dimensions, a file size ceiling and sometimes a DPI figure. Image info answers the first, the DPI checker answers the third, and the presets in the government photo tools handle all three at once for a passport photo, a PAN card photo or an Aadhaar photo.
